One of the many ways we adapted services this past year, was the addition of “welcome boxes” for our Family Alliance therapy clients. Every child receives a welcome therapy box after their intake session is completed. Depending on the child’s age, each package contains items such as art supplies, a journal, coloring books, a stuffed animal, and other things to help the child explore and express his or her creativity and find comfort in the healing process. These items are utilized during therapy sessions; the child is also encouraged to use the supplies outside of sessions as well.
